Through works inspired by architectural elements, such as vaults and stained-glass windows, this exhibition offers a modern and geometric reinterpretation of Burgundy's heritage treasures. It's like an invitation to revisit heritage through a kaleidoscopic vision blending tradition and modernity, from which a certain spirituality emerges.

Fractals
“An infinite sphere whose center is everywhere,
the circumference nowhere.
Blaise Pascal
Hypnotic by its axial symmetries, fascinating by its details where the mind can get lost and project more or less phantasmagorical shapes and faces, the concept of "Fractal" developed by Denis Rodella offers a pictorial universe of great originality and vast diversity.
On the edge of a "fixed idea" if not an "aesthetic obsession", this work is presented in abstract figures that combine central symmetry and artistic sensitivity. Which gives it its geometric and repetitive side, giving off a disturbing charm from which emerges a beauty that is like "magnetic".
“Heritage” Collection
Inspired by architecture, whether sacred or profane, the "Heritage" Fractals create an unexpected aesthetic vision of monuments. Highlighting some of their geometrically arranged details on backgrounds where stones and woodwork blend. This series exudes the authentic and precious charm of museum pieces, chiseled and inlaid as in the old days.
“Vézelay” Collection
A mecca of Romanesque art and Christian history, but also a place of pilgrimage and contemplation for the author. This collection, on the theme of the "Eternal Hill," exudes an aesthetic religiosity imbued with the charm of Mary Magdalene, to whom the basilica is dedicated.
The austerity specific to this place also emerges, which can be considered as the Burgundian Jerusalem.
“Tribute to Soulages” Collection
“A painting is an organized whole, a set of forms (lines, colored surfaces, etc.) on which the meanings we give it are made or unmade.
The content of this set is not an equivalent of emotion, of sensation, it lives by itself.
Pierre Soulages 1948
Collection “Ernst Haeckel”
This collection is inspired by the work of Ernst Haeckel, a famous 19th-century biologist and illustrator known for his depictions of natural life forms. The complex organic structures of marine organisms such as jellyfish and corals, their minute details, symmetrical patterns and vibrant colours highlight the beauty and interconnectedness of life.
“Gaia” Collection
This collection is inspired by nature and the cycle of the seasons. The collection celebrates the beauty and diversity of natural forms, while inviting meditative contemplation, as Baudelaire wrote: "Nature is a temple where living pillars sometimes let out confused words; man passes through forests of symbols that observe him with familiar gazes."
“Vintage” Collection
This collection of Fractals, with a strong scent of yesteryear, somewhere between works of art and decorative objects, evokes this poem by Baudelaire:
“There are strong perfumes for which all matter is porous. It is as if they penetrate glass. When opening a casket from the Orient Whose lock creaks and balks as it screams, Or in a deserted house some cupboard Full of the acrid odor of the times, dusty and black, Sometimes one finds an old bottle that remembers, From which springs alive a soul that returns.”
“Modern” Collection
A very contemporary atmosphere for this collection that plays on the purest abstraction and the strictest stripping of lines. Through the effects of digital brushes and their astonishing creativity, Fractals that could not be more modern are revealed in an aesthetic evoking speed and depth. Like shards of crystallized glass in stained glass windows with futuristic aspects.
“Fontenay” Collection
Another place of religious heritage dear to the artist: Fontenay Abbey. Inspired by the Cistercian architecture of the place and its imposing spirituality stripped of all ornament, the author has succeeded in capturing the refined charm of the stone combined with the geometry of its stained glass windows to create works that in no way betray, despite their ornamental side that Saint-Bernard would condemn, the aesthetic and solemn spirit of the place.
“Ethnic” Collection
As inspiration flows, shapes, details, faces, figures… more or less chimerical or archaic appear randomly from the symmetries. Depending on the palette, the organization of the structure and the ornamentation of the painting, the viewer is presented with projective atmospheres, like the Rorschach test, that evoke ancestral arts from all over the world.
“François Pompon” Collection
This collection pays tribute to the famous animal sculptor from Saulieu, who worked with Rodin and Camille Claudel, among others.
With great humility, he said in an exchange with Bourdelle:
"I am just a simple, instinctive, manual worker. I know nothing other than the drive and love of work that push me as it pushed my cabinetmaker father in his workshop."
Collection « Grands Peintres »
Dans cette collection, l’artiste réinterprète de grandes œuvres classiques en les transformant en fractales, leur offrant ainsi une modernité surprenante tout en préservant leur beauté intemporelle.
